Maggie's Room

We wanted to make Maggie's room look different than Molly's nursery was, even though we're using the same bedding and furniture.  I think it really turned out cute, and definitely different than Molly's room looked.  We are all so excited to meet her!

John did such a great job painting the room, he did two walls a soft yellow.  Molly even enjoyed helping!

Since I couldn't really help paint, I wanted to add my own personal touches.  I painted her name to hang on the wall...

I had a window valence that went with the bedding set that we weren't using, so I cut it up and used the fabric to cover some canvas squares, which made some art work for her wall.  Turned out really cute, I think!

There was also a fabric diaper holder that we didn't use, so I cut up a few pieces of that fabric and framed them.  The top one reads, "Let Her Sleep.  For when she wakes, she will move mountains".

All put together!

The video monitor is mounted in the little brown box on the wall by the crib.  I got the wooden box for $1 at Goodwill (it was purple) and I spray painted it with a textured brown paint.
 Little details...

The flower hooks on the wall for all her hair things were $1 each at Hobby Lobby.  I just had to sand them down a little and spray painted them the same as I did the brown wall box.  One of our maternity shoot photos is framed above the hooks.  Of course we love that we can use the changing table again that is so special.  The buffet is John's great great grandmother's, and Chuck (my father in law that passed away right after Molly was born) made the changing table attachment for the top that was specially made to match the crib.

Well, I'd say we're ready for her arrival!  Room is done and bag is packed.  Now, we just wait!...

Pregnancy Progression

Well, I sit here at 39.5 weeks pregnant, wondering when our new little one will decide to enter the world!  I was 1 cm dilated at my doctor appointment yesterday, so we just wait and see at this point.   I've been having LOTS of Braxton Hicks contractions (false labor).  These contractions don't really hurt, but they're very uncomfortable, with a lot of pressure.  Unfortunately these kinds of contractions do nothing to help dilate the cervix, they're just "practice contractions" for the uterus to get ready for the real ones...*sigh...I have another appointment scheduled next week on Friday, and if she hasn't come by then, then we'll schedule an induction.  I'm hoping that she'll come before then, but I'm trusting in God's perfect timing in it all, and trying to remember that I have no control over it!

I thought it would be fun to put all my belly progression pictures together to see how my belly has grown over the last 40 weeks...

Cowgirl Party

We had so much fun this afternoon at Molly's best friend's 3rd Birthday Party. Tenley and Molly are just a couple months apart in age, and love playing together.  Her party was a cowgirl theme, complete with a live horse!  It was another beautiful day outside, and it was fun to spend the afternoon with our BFF's!

Such Cuties!!

Horses for the girls to ride around on, made from pool noodles!  Check out the video of the horse race below...

 Our little cowgirl

They had a beautiful horse that was SO patient with the kids.  Molly wasn't interested in riding, but she had fun watching the other kids.

She let us get close enough to pet the horse and get a quick picture!
