Molly's turns 3!

It's so hard to believe that 3 years has gone by since Molly came into our lives.  She is incredible, and she amazes us on a daily basis all that she learns and how she is growing.  There were 3 things I was hoping would happen by the time she turned 3 - to transition her to a big girl bed, get rid of her pacifiers (which she has only been using at night time for awhile), and to get her potty trained.  Well, the transition into a big girl bed was seamless.  She loves her bunk beds that John's grandpa made for him when he was little.  A few weeks ago we asked Molly if she wanted to give her pacifiers to her new baby sister (baby Maggie), and she said yes.  She hasn't used her pacifier since!  We started working on the potty training, but it just hasn't gone well yet.  So, we'll continue working on it.  I'm hoping she'll be mostly potty trained by the time the baby comes in September, but we'll see!

Molly loves playing with her dollhouse, coloring, playing with cars (beep-beeps) and trains, and playing bubbles outside.  Her favorite food is Mac & Cheese, and she sure loves ice cream with sprinkles!  She sleeps about 12 hours at night, takes a nap sometimes during the day (but less often these days), is starting to speak in full sentences, can spell her name, knows all her letters, shapes, and numbers to 20, and seems to learn something new everyday.  We are so proud of her!

We had a great weekend celebrating Molly's birthday.  Since she loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, we decided to do a Mickey Mouse theme.  I made a few decorations (from ideas I got from Pinterest, of course), which turned out really cute.

The cupcakes were really easy, we made Mickey Mouse ears with Oreos cut in half, and mini Oreos for the ears.  Yummy!

Molly was very excited for her party to start, she had no idea the day she was in for!

Goodie bags for all the kids

Water, lemonade punch, and juice boxes

I originally planned an elaborate menu from ideas I found on Pinterest.  But then I had a revelation, and decided that being 7 1/2 months pregnant, that I should tone it down a bit, and I'm so glad I did!  We had hot dogs, Mac & Cheese, chips, fruit, veggies, deviled eggs, Mickey fruit snacks, and Mickey-shaped cheese.  The kids all loved the food and it was very low-stress to prepare it all.

Ready for friends to arrive!!

My parents and John's mom came to visit to make the day perfect

Lots of friends!

We did cupcakes outside since we didn't want to chance getting red icing and Oreo cookies all over the place.  It was pretty hot, but I'm really glad we did it outside.  My pregnant belly made it in most of these pictures :-).

Molly received so many amazing gifts from friends and family.  She is such a blessed little girl!

We are so thankful for all the friends and family that came to help us celebrate Molly's birthday.  We couldn't have made the day happen without all the help and support.  A big thank you for all the wonderful toys and clothes that were given and sent!  Molly is an amazing little girl, and is so loved!!
